Governor Matt Blunt is out of the state today – way out of the state! He’s touring the Middle East, visiting Missouri National Guardsmen in Iraq, Kuwait, and Afghanistan. Approximately 1,300 Missouri Guard are in the region. Blunt says he’s had the chance to view Iraqi security forces training to eventually take over the mission there. Blunt says while most troops he’s talked to tell him they have just about everything they need, they are asking for more letters from home. He says they like e-mail, but a personally written letter seems to mean more to them.
