The Missouri St. baseball team kept hopes of a Missouri Valley Conference regular season title alive with a 2-1, 12-inning win over Indiana State. Bears’ catcher Jay Coulter extended his hitting streak to 11 games with a solo home run in the top of the 12th to break a 1-1 tie. Reliever Chris Crawczyk put the Sycamores down in order in the bottom of the 12th to give MSU their fifth-straight win. He pitched the final 4.1 innings of the game for the Bears.

The victory moves Missouri St. to 28-20 overall and 13-8 in the MVC. If they can win their final two games of the regular season against Indiana St. and if Evansville loses just once to Bradley, the Bears will clinch the conference crown. It would also assure them of the top seed at the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament in Wichita next week.
