The state of Missouri has started courting Honda, which plans to build a big assembly plant somewhere in the Midwest within two years. Economic Development Director Greg Steinhoff says his office has been in touch with Honda, explaining incentives and the advantages of building cars in Missouri. Missouri even has a vacant plant somebody could take over. The former Ford Hazelwood facility. Honda plans to spend $400-Million on the plant. It would employ 1,500 people. The company has not revealed which states are getting serious consideration.
