House Clerk Steve Davis will be leaving the chamber to work with his former boss, U.S. Attorney Catherine Hanaway. Davis doesn’t yet have a specific assignment in the federal prosecutor’s office in St. Louis. He came to the House during the veto session of 1999, the session that overturned Governor Mel Carnahan’s veto of the partial-birth abortion bill. He has seen Republicans become the majority party and seen term limits change the make-up of the chamber. The top assistant to House Speaker Pro Tem Carl Bearden, Adam Crumbliss, has been elected the new Clerk, effective July 10th.
