It’s been a long-time coming for St. Louis native Cory Spinks. After getting knocked out by Zab Judah in St. Louis in February of 2005 and losing his undisputed welterweight title, Spinks hasn’t had a single fight. The vacation from the ring will end on July 8, when he takes on Roman Karmazin for the IBF junior middleweight title at the Savvis Center.

Spinks will come into the fight with a record of 34-3 with 11 knockouts to his credit. He’ll be at a heavier weight than he was when he lost to Judah at 147 pounds. Karmazin is 34-1-1 with 21 knockouts.

Spinks’ fight against Judah drew 22,730 people to the Savvis Center, which set an indoor attendance record for a boxing match.
