Missouri’s two U.S. Senators are on the same page on the question of illegal immigration from Mexico, and seemingly at odds with some of President Bush’s plans for immigration. Senator Kit Bond says that while the rules regarding who should be able to come to the U.S. need to be revamped, America must first secure its borders. Senator Jim Talent says there is no question that security at the border must be beefed up. Both disapprove of President Bush’s plan to grant what amounts to an amnesty for those who have entered this country unlawfully. They say it is wrong to reward illegal behavior.
