Danny Massier of Saskatchewan, Canada likes the National Indoor Football League. How much does he like it? If there were a price tag, you might say his affinity for the 22-team league is worth at least $1,326. That’s how much he paid to earn a spot on the River City Rage’s roster next month.

The Rage, which plays its home games at the Savvis Center in St. Louis, auctioned off a spot on their roster on eBay and Massier, 43, was the highest bidder.

What does $1,326 get you? Massier will get a one-game—unpaid—contract, he’ll suit up and be a part of the kickoff coverage team in the first quarter. He’ll also be named honorary captain for the June 23 game against the Tennessee Riversharks. And he’ll get to bring plenty of friends along, too. Massier’s winning bid gets him 20 tickets.
