A new on-campus basketball arena for St. Louis University is one step closer to becoming reality. The SLU board of trustees approved a resolution that will begin construction of the arena sometime in August or September. The 10,000-seat arena will cost approximately $80-million when all is said and done. It will be the second-largest in the Atlantic 10, trailing only Dayton University. The university is hoping for construction to be complete by March 2008. The team currently plays its home games in St. Louis’ Savvis Center.
