The Senate has given final approval to the eminent domain bill, sending the legislation to Governor Matt Blunt. Senator Chris Koster of Harrisonville, the Senate Sponsor, says this bill has enjoyed broad support in both the House and Senate. The final version of the bill satisfies the concerns of such groups as the Missouri Chamber of Commerce and the Missouri Farm Bureau. The effort to change the current eminent domain legislation came about as a result of anger over a U.S. Supreme Court decision in a Connecticut land seizure.
