The authority of the athletic departments in the University of Missouri system could shift, if a motion put forth in yesterday’s open Board of Curators meeting is passed. Curator David Wassinger made a motion on Thursday that would create a three-person committee that would oversee athletics on the four University of Missouri campuses (University of Missouri-Columbia, University of Missouri-Rolla, University of Missouri-Kansas City and University of Missouri-St. Louis).

Curator David Wassinger motioned for such a committee and the move was seconded by Curator John M. Carnahan. The Board of Curators will vote on the proposal today.
Earlier this year, Wassinger expressed concern over how MU Athletic Director Mike Alden handled the resignation of former basketball coach Quin Snyder

The athletic departments of the four campuses are currently overseen by the respective chancellors of each school.
