Blunt Issues Policy Banning Lobbyist Gifts

May 4, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

Governor Matt Blunt has issued a new code of conduct policy for those working in his office. The policy includes a ban on gifts from lobbyists. Under the policy, employees would be required to reimburse lobbyists for meals, tickets, trips, or any other items of value. Governor’s office employees would also be prohibited from engaging in business with state government or in outside employment when a conflict of interest might arise from that employment. A statement from Blunt’s office says this is the first time any Missouri Governor has issued a lobbyist gift ban.
