Rams Sign Son Of Actor and UConn Basketball Player

May 2, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

The unveiling of a list of undrafted free agent signings generally isn’t a noteworthy event, however the Rams have some interesting names among the ten players they inked to deals on Monday. The first is John David Washington, who led NCAA Division II Morehouse St. with 1,198 yards rushing. He is the son of Academy Award winning actor, Denzel Washington.

The Rams also signed Ed Nelson of Connecticut to a deal. If that name sounds familiar, then you are probably a college basketball fan. Nelson was a reserve on the UConn Basketball team, averaging 3 points and 3 rebounds per game last season. He hasn’t played football since he was a freshman in high school. Nelson, who is 6-6 and 266 pounds, has been listed as a tight end.
