Johnson Wins At Talladega, McMurray and Edwards In Top 10

May 2, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

Sunday’s NASCAR race at Talladega was postponed until Monday and that proved to be just fine with Jimmie Johnson, who grabbed his third victory of the season. Tony Stewart was second, Brian Vickers was third and Jeff Burton was fourth. Joplin, Missouri native, Jamie McMurray, rounded out the top ten. He even led for a while.

Columbia, Missouri native Carl Edwards also led, but finished eighth. Ken Schrader, who is from Fenton, Missouri, was 42nd. Edwards moved up one spot in the points standings to 15th, while McMurray moved up three spots to 17th.

Scharder’s crew chief, David Hyder, has been fined $5,000 by NASCAR and was placed on probation for using an unapproved tire warmer in the April 22 race in Phoenix.
