It will cost more to register a boat in Missouri under a bill passing the Legislature and heading to the Governor. Representative Wayne Cooper of Camdenton sponsors the bill that will force boat owners to prove they have registered their boat, while increasing application fees. Application fees would jump from $20 to $55 on the most popular size of boats. The additional fees are expected to net $5-Million for the state; $2-Million for General Revenue and $3.1-Million for a newly created State Water Patrol fund. The fund would be used to increase Water Patrol officer salaries and buy equipment for the Patrol.
