The Springfield Cardinals extended their lead in the Texas League North to two games over Tulsa by beating the Drillers 5-4 in Springfield Tuesday. The Cardinals had to overcome a 3-0 deficit to do it.

They overcame the deficit in the sixth inning with a three-run rally to go ahead 5-4. Matt Dryer and Iker Franco drove in runs with singles, which tied the game at 4-4. Mike McCoy grounded out to third, but Franco scored to give the Cardinals the lead.

Left fielder Cody Haerther went 3-for-4 with two doubles, an RBI and a run scored. Starting pitcher Mike Parisi (2-0) lasted six innings to get the win. He allowed three earned runs off six hits and walks. He struck out two. Reliever Mark Worrell worked around a walk in the ninth inning to get his fourth save of the season.
