The State Senate has given final approval of the photo ID voting bill. In essence, it would require photo identification of anyone voting or registering to vote. The bill now goes to the House. Senator Delbert Scott of Lowry City, the sponsor of the legislation, expects the House to make some changes. Scott rejects arguments from some Democrats that this legislation would disenfranchise some voters. He insists photo ID is the gold standard for voting which is being adopted by states throughout the country. The bill is SB 1014.
