Nick Stavinoha played the role of hero for the Springfield Cardinals on Thursday night. Stavinoha led off the bottom of the ninth with a home run to left-center to give Springfield a 2-1 win over Wichita. The Wranglers took the lead in the third on a Chris Lubanski home run. Reid Gorecki tied the game on a solo homer in the fourth. Springfield starter Mike Parisi allowed just one run on seven hits in 6 2/3 innings and struck out six batters. Cards closer Mark Worrell got the win after throwing a 1-2-3 ninth inning.
