Javier Vazquez took a no-hitter into the seventh as the White Sox handed the Royals their 10th straight loss, 4-0. A check-swing roller down the third base line turned into a seventh-inning single by Doug Mientkiewicz. It was the first hit of the game for the Royals, who added two more hits in the ninth. Vazquez allowed two hits in eight-plus innings of work. The Royals went winless on their nine-game road trip and allowed more runs (69) than they collected hits (62). At 2-12, the Royals are off to the second-worst start in franchise history.
