Senate Approves Spending Hike for Public Schools

April 19, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

The State Senate votes to add more than $125-Million to the public school funding formula. That’s the new formula that is being challenged in court as inadequate and inequitable. More than 200 districts sued. Some have dropped out since a new disribution formula was established. The House has passed its version of the funding increase, as well. The final figure will be worked out in compromise discussions between the Senate and the House.
