Roush racing decided that it was time for a shakeup and it will involve the crew chiefs for two drivers from Missouri. Columbia native Carl Edwards and Joplin’s Jamie McMurray are both off to slow starts in the NASCAR Nextel Cup points race, so to switch things up, Roush has decided to move Edwards’ crew chief, Bob Osborne, to be McMurray’s new crew chief. Edwards will get Wally Brown who has been a head engineer for Roush Racing. Brown replaces Jimmy Fenig, who is now Matt Kenseth’s Busch team crew chief and was also named the senior crew chief for Roush.

2005 was Edwrds’ first full season on NASCAR’s biggest stage, and he won four races and finished in the top five 13 times and in the top ten 18 times to finish third in points. McMurray, who moved from Ganassi Racing to Roush this season, finished 12th in points last season and 11th in 2004. This season, Edwards is 22nd in points and McMurray is 21st.
