Blues Retire MacInnis’ Jersey, End Record Skid

The longest losing streak in St. Louis Blues history came to an end on Sunday night with a 2-1 win over the Edmonton Oilers. Jamal Mayers and Mark Rycroft scored in the second and third periods to put the Blues up 2-0. Former Blues captain, Chris Pronger scored the Oilers’ only goal of the game on a power-play with 25 seconds left in the contest.Blues rookie goalie Jason Bacashihua stopped 36 shots to get the win and end the nasty skid for St. Louis. It was their first win since March 13.Before the game, the Blues retired Al MacInnis’ #2 jersey in a 45-minute ceremony. The Oilers chose not to attend the ceremony, which meant Chris Pronger, who was a long-time teammate of MacInnis’ did not participate.
