Missouri St. women’s basketball coach Katie Abrahamson-Henderson is attracting the attention of Purdue University. They have asked Missouri St. for permission to talk to Abrahamson-Henderson about their head coaching vacancy.

Abrahamson-Henderson is no stranger to the Big 10—she was an assistant at Michigan St. and played at Iowa. The Purdue job became available when Kristy Curry left West Lafayette to become the head coach at Texas Tech.

Abrahamson-Henderson just completed her fourth year at Missouri St. and has an overall record of 88-40. 2005-2006 was shaping up to be her most disappointing season ever, until the Lady Bears regrouped and won four straight games at the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament to earn an automatic bid in the NCAA Tournament. Interestingly enough, they lost their first-round game to Purdue, 73-52.

She has guided Missouri St. to the NCAA Tournament three times, winning the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament each time. In 2004-2005, they missed the NCAA Tournament, but won the WNIT.
