The State Senate has outlined how its leadership would spend $450-Million that might come from the sale of some assets of the Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority – MOHELA – and there are some big differences with the House version. The Senate wants to spend about $300-million on higher education capital improvements. House Speaker Rod Jetton’s people want to spend $140-milion less. The Senate does not want to use any of the money to reduce state debt and wants to distribute scholarship money differently than does the House.
