Governor Matt Blunt has directed the State Department of Natural Resources to tell AmerenUE that certain provisions of the company’s Shoreline Management Plan for Lake of the Ozarks are not necessary to bring Ameren into state environmental compliance. Worries arose when Ameren submitted to federal regulators its plan that could have restricted the numbers of boat docks in certain parts of the lake. The hope is, that if Ameren doesn’t have to meet some state requirements, it will drop from its federal plan the areas that could end up impacting property owners at the Lake of the Ozarks.
