There could be yet another bonus for Kansas City if voters in the area pass a tax measures on April 4. Royals’ owner David Glass announced yesterday that MLB commissioner Bud Selig has promised Kansas City an All-Star Game between 2010 and 2015 if renovations are made to Kauffman Stadium.

On April 4, Jackson County will vote on a 3/8 cent sales-tax which would pay for $425-million of a proposed renovation plan of $575 million. The county will also vote on a use fee that would raise $200 million for a rolling roof to be used at both stadiums.

Recently signed leases, which would keep the Royals and Chiefs at Truman Sports Complex through 2031, are contingent upon the passage of the two measures.

The NFL has promised Arrowhead Stadium a Super Bowl in 2015 if they add the rolling roof.
