Drury University senior Amanda Newton was named to the NCAA Division II All-American team for the third straight season on Wednesday. Newton averaged 13.5 points and 6.3 rebounds per game as a senior and helped move the Panthers to a 30-3 record this season. She will leave Drury as the young program’s all-time leading scorer with 1,815 points and the all-time leading rebounder with 793. After graduation, Newton plans on attending graduate school at DU and joining the coaching staff as a graduate assistant.
