KC Mayor Wants Report on St. Patrick’s Parade Violence

March 22, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

Kansas City Mayor Kay Barnes wants a report on violence at last Friday’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade by next Tuesday. Police say they had to break up at least ten fights. At least one gunshot was fired. Two men were arrested who had guns and police say they almost shot a youngster who had a toy gun. The parade committee had hoped it had taken steps to provide more control over participants after the parade in 2004 resulted in two shootings and 17 people being arrested. Parade organizers say they can’t suggest actions this time until they’ve met with police and have analyzed what happened.
