Northwest Missouri St. Ends Season With Heart-Breaker

March 15, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

Northwest Missouri St. suffered a heart-breaking loss, which ended their season in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Division II Men’s Basketball Tournament. The Bearcats endured a last-second put back by LeShon Sheffield, which gave Tarleton St. a 72-71 win in the regional championship in Bolivar.

The buzzer-beater came just seconds after NWMSU’s Mose Howard put in a lay up to give the Bearcats a 72-71.

The ending probably shouldn’t have to come as a surprise in a game where there were 20 lead changes. Addae Houston led Northwest Missouri St. with 21 points. They end their season with a 22-10 record.
