MOHELA Board Moving Forward With Plans to Sell Assets

March 12, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

Friday’s do-over unanimous vote by the Board of the Missouri Higher Education Loan Authority to approve Governor Matt Blunt’s proposal to sell off some of the MOHELA assets has Board members keeping a close watch on the Capitol. Karen Leubbert, MOHELA’s Chair, says the Board has approved the idea, but will not take any action that is not approved by the Legislature and the Governor. The lawsuit launched by the Attorney General over alleged violations of the Sunshine Law during the first vote in January remains. Leubbert will not comment on the legal action.
