The Missouri women’s basketball team will have to hope that their 21-9 record and fourth place finish in the Big 12 carries enough weight to earn an at-large bid into the NCAA Tournament. Their hopes of winning an automatic bid by winning the conference tourney were dashed with a 75-54 loss to top-seeded Oklahoma.

The face that the Tigers lost by 21 is a testament to their determination—OU jumped out to a 46-17 lead at half time. Freshman twins Courtney and Ashley Paris dominated the Tigers. The two combined for 37 points and 21 rebounds (Courtney had 17/10, while Ashley had 10/11).

Tiffany Brooks was the only Tiger with more than seven points, scoring a game-high 24.

In the first half, the Sooners hit 59 percent of their shots, while the Tigers were good for just 23 percent.

It was the first time in school history that the Tigers had advanced to the semifinals of the Big 12 Tournament.
