Governor Planning for European Trade Trip

March 9, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

Governor Matt Blunt will soon leave for Europe, where he will pitch Missouri products to several European countries. Plans have yet to be finalized, but at present they include trips to the United Kingdom, Italy, Belguim, the Czech Republic and Hungary. Blunt says he will talk up all aspects of Missouri-based products. Nine of the state’s top ten export products saw increases in 2005. Agricultural products led the way with a jump of 50-percent, followed closely by a nearly 40-percent jump in the sales of food products. Overall, 2005 was a record export year for Missouri-based products, with total sales growing to $10.5-Billion.
