The NFL owners and players agreed to a new six-year labor agreement in Dallas Wednesday night. The new agreement will feature a salary cap boost from $94.5 million to $102 million in 2006. The new cap is effective immediately, which will allow teams to go after players they’ve cut because of salary cap reasons. The Rams recently cut wide receiver Isaac Bruce, while the Chiefs cut Gary Stills, Dexter McCleon, Shawn Barber and Eric Warfield.
However, Barber won’t be back with Kansas City because he agreed to a one-year deal with the Eagles on Wednesday.
The cap will move to $109 million in 2007.
