NFL teams have until 5:00 on Sunday to get under the salary cap. The Chiefs got an early start by releasing four veterans on Thursday. Among the players cut was cornerback Eric Warfield, who started 10 games for the Chiefs last year. Kansas City also cut cornerback Dexter McCleon and linebackers Gary Stills and Shawn Barber. The moves cleared out about $6.3 million in salaries, but the Chiefs still have some work to do. The team is reportedly about $12 million over the cap.
