Garner Fired At Southeast Missouri State

March 2, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

After nine seasons in Cape Girardeau, Gary Garner is out as Southeast Missouri State’s basketball coach. The university said Wednesday it will not extend Garner’s five-year contract. The Redhawks went 7-20 overall this season, and just 4-16 in the Ohio Valley Conference. The 62-year-old Garner had a 126-132 record at the school. He led Southeast to a 24-7 record in 2000 and the school’s first NCAA Division I Tournament berth.
