Senator Jim Talent has taken to the floor of the US Senate to introduce a resolution recognizing the 17 Negro Leagues Baseball players who are being inducted into Major League Baseball’s Hall of Fame. But Talent says it’s a resolution he almost didn’t go through with because of what he considers a slight to one of the greatest Negro Leagues players and managers of all time, Buck O’Neal of the Kansas City Monarchs. The Senate eventually votes unanimously in favor of the resolution. Talent hopes Major League Baseball will end up doing the right thing and eventually induct O’Neal.
