Supporters of a gay-hating Topeka, Kansas preacher who leads protests at funerals of fallen U.S. military personnel stage a demonstration outside the State Capitol. Margie Phelps, daughter of Preacher Fred Phelps, is upset with the new Missouri law banning protests at funerals. She says the protests are needed by a country whose values are wrong. As the protest took place outside, Governor Blunt and others got together in his office for a ceremonial signing of the new law. Among those in attendance was Imojean Myers, whose husband was killed in Iraq. The Phelps followers protesterd her husband’s funeral and she doesn’t want to see that kind of thing happen to anyone else. Myers says when she had a difficult time explaining to her 5-year-old son protesters had gathered at his father’s funeral to say the man was going to Hell.
