Talent Wants Special Designation for Missouri-Mississippi Rivers Confluence

February 21, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

Senator Jim Talent wants Congress to declare the confluence of the Missouri and Mississippi Rivers a National Heritage Corridor. He says the designation will help preserve the land and encourage tourism. Part of the area already is a state park. Another segment is a conservation area. The land Talent wants to designate covers about 200 square miles.
