Senate Moving to Keep Convicted Drunk Drivers From Driving School Buses

February 16, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

A plan to keep anybody who’s ever been convicted of drunk driving from ever driving a school bus in Missouri is working its way through the Senate. Senator Norma Champion says the state needs stronger regulations of bus drivers. The Revenue Department issues endorsements on regular drivers licenses certifying people are qualified to drive school buses. Her bill would let the Deparatment permanently revoke the endorsement of any school bus driver convicted of DWI and would prohibit the department from issuing endorsements to anybody who ever has been convicted of drunk driving.
