TIMELINE OF SNYDER RESIGNATION

•EARLY THURSDAY AFTERNOON, BEFORE PRACTICE—Snyder tells a group of reporters that, despite a six-game skid (which included a loss to Baylor on Tuesday of that week) he will not quit and he intends to keep on coaching until he’s told not to.

•LATE THURSDAY AFTERNOON—Link is sent to talk to Snyder by Athletic Director Mike Alden. Later that evening, Snyder tells his staff that he will resign.

•FRIDAY AFTERNOON, AFTER PRACTICE—-Snyder tells players that he will resign.

•LATER FRIDAY AFTERNOON—-Snyder informs Alden that he will resign.

•FRIDAY EVENING—-Story begins to surface that Alden sent Link to see Snyder to tell him that he will be fired at the end of the season. Media is given a two-line statement from MU Sports Information Director, Chad Moller, that Snyder will not coach against Kansas St. on Sunday.

•SATURDAY AFTERNOON—MU Board of Curators discuss Snyder’s resignation and subsequent buy out.

•SUNDAY MORNING—Alden speaks to reporters and informs them that he sent Link to talk to Snyder because he wanted to gauge how Snyder was handling the six-game losing streak. Insists he did not send Link to inform Snyder of an impending dismissal. He also says the settlement between MU and Snyder is done and terms will be released later.

•LATER SUNDAY MORNING—Media at Mizzou Arena informed that Snyder will meet with media between 4-5PM, following MU’s game against K-State.

•SUNDAY AFTERNOON—Under interim head coach Melvin Watkins, Mizzou snaps skid with 74-71 win.

•LATER SUNDAY AFTERNOON—-At about 4:55 PM, media is given a short press release which indicates that Snyder will not attend press conference because the buyout agreement hasn’t been reached.

•MONDAY EARLY AFTERNOON—Dennis Harper, owner of Harpo’s bar in Columbia tells Kansas City Star that he is upset with the treatment of Gary Link, who is a friend and ends his relationship with “Tiger Talk” and “The Mike Alden Show”. The two radio programs are not allowed to originate from the establishment. The shows move to the Clinton Room at Mizzou Arena.

•TUESDAY AFTERNOON—Word reaches that Snyder’s settlement for $574,000 has been finalized and he will speak with media.

•TUESDAY NIGHT—Snyder tells media that Link was sent to inform him of his dismissal. Also says that Link told him that it was approved by President Elson Floyd. Floyd responds with statement that he was never informed of the plan to fire Snyder.
