Former Chiefs Defensive Coordinator and St. Louis Native Enjoy Super Bowl Win

February 6, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

While no Missouri teams were in Super Bowl XL, there were some connections to the state as the Steelers topped the Seahawks 21-10 in Detroit. Steelers head coach Bill Cowher, who earned his first Super Bowl win in two tries, spent four seasons (1989-1992) with the Chiefs and was the defensive coordinator there. The new world champions also featured reserve offensive lineman Barrett Brooks, from McCluer North High School in the St. Louis area. He is an 11-year veteran.

Webb City, Missouri native and former St. Louis Ram, Grant Wistrom, had two tackles and a sack in the loss for Seattle. Also a member of the Seahawks is Kansas City native and former MU Tiger star, Michael Harden.
