Southwest Missouri Congressman Roy Blunt loses out on his bid to become the Majority Leader in the U.S. House of Representatives. Ohio Congressman John Boehner has won the position. On the first round of balloting among House Republicans, Blunt received 110 of the 117 votes needed to elect, with Boehner placing second and Arizona Congressman John Shadegg finishing third. A second round was needed, with Shaddeg’s name no longer in the mix, and Boehner ended up with the votes needed to win.
