Lady Bears Drilled By UNI

January 30, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

The Missouri St. women were roughed up 64-47 by Northern Iowa on Sunday at the Hammons Student Center in Springfield. UNI led by as many as 13 points in the first half and were ahead 28-17 after the final buzzer of the half sounded. The Lady Bears couldn’t find the inside of the hoop, making 6-of-23 shots in the first half.

While MSU shot a little better in the second half, 36.7 percent, UNI hit 50 percent of their shots over the final 20 minutes. Cassie Hager led the Panthers with 21 points, while teammate Tara King added 17.

Kari Koch was 5-of-21 shooting with 15 points for the Lady Bears. Sarah Klaassen was the only other Lady Bear in double figures, scoring 11.

With the loss, MSU fell deeper in the Missouri Valley Conference—they’re now 9-9 on the season and 3-6 in the Missouri Valley Conference. UNI is 12-6 and 6-3.
