Martz Interviewed For Raiders Job

January 27, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

Former Rams head coach Mike Martz may not be sitting at home this year after all. Martz was in Oakland on Thursday to meet with the Raiders concerning their head coaching vacancy. Martz was fired by the Rams after the regular season ended. He coached only five games, before stepping down indefinitely to deal with an infection of a heart valve. The Raiders fired Norv Turner after two seasons on the job. Oakland went 9-23 under Turner.

The Raiders are the only team in the NFL still with a head coaching vacancy.

Rams offensive coordinator Steve Fairchild has landed in Buffalo. He’ll be the offensive coordinator under new head coach Dick Jauron.
