Wizards Trade Klein

January 24, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

The Kansas City Wizards have traded one of the staples of its organization. Midfielder Chris Klein has been traded to Real Salt Lake after eight seasons with the team. Klein, who is a St. Louis native, was a 2004 MLS All-Star and was earned his second MLS Comeback Player of the Year in 2005. After recovering from a torn ACL, Klein scored seven goals and had nine assists, which were both career high marks. He won the same award in 2002 after returning from his first torn ACL. In his eight seasons he played in 200 games and notched 39 goals and 45 assists.
