The charges brought against Chiefs running back Larry Johnson have been thrown out of court. A judge in Kansas City made the decision to drop the case after the woman accusing Johnson of assault refused to show in court for a third time.
In September, the woman said Johnson grabbed and shoved her at a Kansas City bar. Johnson’s attorney said they had witnesses who would have testified that Johnson did nothing wrong.
Though the charge was misdemeanor, it could have been big trouble for Johnson who was accused of slapping a woman and threatening her with a gun in his home in 2003. The charges weren’t pursued after Johnson agreed to take anger management classes.
Despite starting just nine games in 2005, Johnson rushed for 1,750 yards, which led the NFL.
