Business Group Intervenes in Lawsuit Over Workers’ Comp Law

January 18, 2006 By admin Leave a Comment

One of the state’s business organizations has joined the fight over a union lawsuit to overturn Missouri’s new workers’ compensation law. Associated Industries of Missouri has filed a motion in Cole County Circuit Court to intervene in the suit filed in an effort to overturn the law. AIM’s Jim Kistler says it’s an effort to preserve a law that has never come under fire from any injured Missourian – only from unions expressing hypothetical concerns. As things stand now, the judge hearing the case is being asked to dismiss the challenge to the law, but Kistler that is not likely to happen.
