The drought is finally over for the Missouri St. Bears. After just their second 0-3 start in conference play since becoming a Division I program, MSU grabbed a 69-52 home win over Southern Illinois grab their first win in the Missouri Valley Conference this season.

Senior Kari Koch led the offensive charge for the Lady Bears with 28 points and five assists to go with her seven rebounds. Koch Hit 10-of-20 shots and was 6-of-8 from the free throw line.

Missouri St. hit 43.1 percent of their shots, despite a dismal 4-of-20 performance shooting three-pointers. However, they were deadly accurate when not dropping bombs—MSU hit 55 percent of their shots inside the arc. Breton Wyett and Tiff Terwelp scored 10 points apiece—that was a career-high for Wyett. Sarah Klaassen scored nine.

The Lady Bears defense held the Salukis to 33 percent shooting on the night.

Misosuri St. improved to 7-6 overall and 1-3 in the Valley, while SIU dropped to 6-8 and 2-3.
