The Missouri women’s basketball team pushed its winning streak to 12 games with a 64-58 victory over Nebraska in Lincoln Wednesday. Defending Big 12 Player of the Week, LaToya Bond, led all scorers with 21 points for Mizzou. Bond’s two free throws with 3:33 to go in the first half tied the game and gave the Tigers a 25-24 lead. Mizzou never trailed after that, though the ‘Huskers stayed close.

Missouri led by as many as nine points in the second half, but Nebraska was often within five points throughout the final 20 minutes of the game. Carlynn Savant and Christelle N’Garsanet added support for Bond with 16 points apiece—N’Garsanet also grabbed 10 rebounds. No other Tiger scored more than five points.

MU is now 13-2 overall and 3-0 in the Big 12, marking the first time since 1989 that Mizzou has started a conference season with three-straight wins. The ‘Huskers, who were tied with Missouri and Oklahoma for the league lead, dropped to 10-4 overall and 2-1 in the Big 12. OU is 2-0 in conference play and will face Oklahoma St. on Saturday.

The Tigers travel to Texas on Saturday.
