A Missouri Senator weighs in on the U.S. Senate hearings on Judge Sam Alito’s nomination to the U.S. Supreme Court. It’s no surprise that the confirmation hearings for Judge Sam Alito have been contentious. After all, a partisan fight had been all but promised. Senator Talent, who expects to vote on the nomination, says he’s seeing more or less what he anticipated out of the process. Talent has had a chance to meet and talk with Alito, and he liked what he saw. Some Democrats have hinted at a filibuster over the nomination, but Talent doesn’t think that’s going to happen. Based on what he’s seen and heard in the hearings, he believes Alito will be confirmed and take a seat on the High Court.
