The negotiations between the Chiefs and Jets over Herman Edwards are continuing. The two sides resumed negotiations last night, according to a report on ESPN.com. The Kansas City Star reported that Edwards cleaned out his office with the Jets yesterday. One thing seems certain: Edwards won’t be back with the Jets. The team has apparently tired of Edwards’ desire for a contract extension or release.

The Jets cancelled Edwards’ season-ending press conference on Thursday.

Chiefs President/GM, Carl Peterson, was in Indianapolis on Thursday interviewing Colts defensive coordinator Ron Meeks about the head coaching vacancy. The Chiefs have also interviewed Ravens offensive coordinator Jim Fassel and Chiefs offensive coordinator Al Saunders.

The Rams’ search for a new head coach continued Thursday when they interviewed Cowboys defensive coordinator Mike Zimmer. They’re looking to fill the void left when the team fired Mike Martz on Monday. Martz has been contacted by the New Orleans Saints about their head coaching opening and is expected meet with them next week.
